FAQs

What services do you offer?

1

Mokko Seishin is a design and fabrication studio that focuses on freestanding home furniture and objects, using domestic natural materials— primarily hard wood (e.g. white oak, walnut, maple, cherry, and ash)

We design original pieces with options for custom dimensions and use of different wood species.

What is the process of ordering a furniture piece or object?

2

Furniture is made-to-order and generally comes with a 8-12 week lead time. This may fluctuate depending on current workloads

Reach out to us via email (info@mokkoseishin.com) and send over details of what you’re looking for. Let us know what design you’d like, and any custom specifications that you’d like to have incorporated. When a design is confirmed, we ask for a 50% deposit payment prior to beginning fabrication, and then the remaining 50% upon completion.

Objects (e.g. spoons, vessels, keepsake boxes) are made periodically in limited quantities. They’re born partly out of an effort to reduce waste and make use of off-cut materials of furniture projects. We announce inventory updates of objects via social media (i.e. Instagram) and our newsletter.

What is the philosophy of your practice?

3

In our practice we focus on creating functional pieces with simple design, incorporating traditional and modern methods that allow pieces to last for generations.

Through our work, our aim is to contribute warmth, comfort, and functionality to living spaces.

The price of each piece is reflective of the time and care put into their design and production, as well as their designed longevity.

Each piece is made primarily (if not fully) with solid wood, and implement joinery that is designed to age,

Where is everything made?

7

Everything is currently being made in our studio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

How is your work categorized? Production furniture? Collectible?

8

Our work is is made-to-order as limited production furniture.

There’s currently not a hard date of when we’ll stop producing current work, but as we develop a newer collection of works in the future, we will naturally shift our production focus onto those pieces (probably early 2027)

What are your shipping/delivery options?

8

All larger pieces ship via insured freight or white-glove delivery depending on destination.

Smaller objects are typically shipped via regular mail carriers.
